Iranian Ayatollah Commends Students for Protesting Against Antisemitism in College
Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei commended American college and university students for disrupting campus life with pro-Palestinian protests and alleging that the Jews control U.S. and European media.
In a public letter addressed to U.S. students, Iran’s supreme leader praised them for becoming a part of the Resistance Front, which includes Iranian-backed terror groups like Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, and Hamas in Gaza.
The letter, dated May 25, was posted on Khamenei’s English-language website and shared on social media platform X.
Recent pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses have caused turmoil, with students being arrested for refusing to disperse. The protests mainly focus on condemning Israel’s actions against Hamas in Gaza.
“The greater Resistance Front, which shares your sentiments, has been fighting against Zionist oppression for years,” Khamenei stated in the letter. “The goal is to end the injustice inflicted on the Palestinian people.”
In addition to U.S. students, Khamenei acknowledged uprisings in other countries and expressed gratitude for the support of professors and the public.
Khamenei criticized the “global Zionist elite” for labeling the Palestinian response as terrorism and accused them of controlling U.S. and European media through funding and bribery.
He concluded the message with advice for American students to study the Quran, emphasizing the teachings of not oppressing or being oppressed.
Israel declared war on Hamas after an attack on Oct. 7, resulting in casualties and hostages taken back to Gaza.
