Miriam Adelson, Billionaire, Set to Establish Super PAC Supporting Trump

Casino magnate and Republican megadonor Miriam Adelson is set to support a super PAC aimed at assisting former President Donald Trump in defeating President Joe Biden.

Adelson will be providing funding for Preserve America, a pro-Trump super PAC originally established in 2020, Politico reported. The organization is being re-launched to bolster Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, as per Politico.

The exact amount that Adelson, the billionaire widow of Sheldon Adelson, will contribute is unknown, but sources informed Politico that she intends to exceed the $90 million donated by the couple four years ago. Their contributions made up 85% of Preserve America’s funds in 2020, Politico disclosed. Sheldon Adelson passed away in 2021.

Miriam Adelson, who is the executive of Las Vegas Sands and the majority owner of the Dallas Mavericks, possesses a net worth of $33.3 billion according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.

Her financial backing will aid Trump in narrowing the fundraising gap with Biden. Biden’s campaign reported $84 million in cash on hand compared to Trump’s $49 million, based on campaign finance reports filed in April.

Trump and Adelson have had recent meetings and phone conversations, Politico shared. Trump had previously presented Adelson with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2018. Adelson refrained from endorsing any candidate in the 2024 Republican primary.

Dave Carney, an adviser to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, will be leading Preserve America, Politico revealed. Chris LaCivita, who managed Preserve America in 2020, now serves as Trump co-campaign manager.

“Joe Biden is ruining our country with high prices, open borders, and weakness abroad. We’re going to do everything we can to stop him and return President Trump to the White House to put America first once again,” Carney stated.

Other Trump Super PACs include MAGA Inc., led by Taylor Budowich, a former Trump spokesperson, and Right for America, funded by former Marvel Entertainment executive Ike Perlmutter.
