Representative Donalds warns Newsmax: Imprisoning Trump Would Result in Catastrophic Consequences

In an interview on “Wake Up America,” Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., told Newsmax on Monday that jailing former President Donald Trump for falsifying business records would be an “abject disaster.”

Donalds emphasized that the American people see the situation as political and expressed concern over the potential outcomes of a prison term for Trump.

He argued that imprisoning a former president like Trump would be unwise given his knowledge of national secrets and raised questions about how Secret Service protection would be handled in that scenario.

Donalds criticized the idea of revoking Secret Service protection for Trump, calling it insane. He also highlighted other criminal activities with lesser consequences compared to the severity of punishment Trump might face.

He emphasized that the American justice system should not be driven by political biases or personal vendettas, and he criticized President Joe Biden as “the master of disaster.”

Donalds expressed confidence that American voters will make a wise decision in the upcoming November election, focusing on who will best serve the country’s interests. He stated that the United States cannot afford Joe Biden any longer.
