Trump Tells D-Day Veterans He’ll See Them in January

Former President Donald Trump honored the 80th anniversary of D-Day by engaging in a virtual conversation with four World War II veterans and promising to host them at the White House if he is reelected.

During his flight to Arizona, Trump spoke with Donald Cobb, Steve Melnikoff, George Cross, and Harold Radish, with all but Radish having participated in the D-Day invasion of France in 1944.

“It’s a great honor to speak with you,” Trump expressed. “I make you a promise – I will meet you at the White House in January. You will be my first guests.”

One of the veterans wished Trump good health and encouraged him to continue fighting for what is right.

Earlier in the day, Trump paid tribute to the heroes of D-Day, acknowledging their sacrifice and bravery.

“Today, we pay tribute to the courageous heroes who landed at Normandy 80 years ago,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The men of D-Day will forever be remembered as some of the bravest, most noble, and greatest Americans in history. They fought for American Freedom with their blood and many made the ultimate sacrifice. They will always hold a special place in our hearts.”

During his presidency, Trump also commemorated the 75th anniversary of the D-Day invasion in Normandy, France, in 2019.
