Biden’s Antisemitism Czar Claims Media Shows General Antisemitism
In an interview with The Washington Post on Tuesday, President Joe Biden’s antisemitism czar, Deborah Lipstadt, accused the media, “in general,” and even The Washington Post of unconsciously fueling antisemitism.
Lipstadt pointed out that the media, including The Washington Post, inadvertently promotes antisemitism by discussing Jewish interests and powerful Jewish figures in a negative light. She clarified that she was not suggesting a deliberate effort to spread antisemitism, but rather a subtle reinforcement of harmful stereotypes and beliefs.
Following the attacks in Israel on Oct. 7, 2023, Lipstadt noted a significant increase in antisemitism and emphasized the dangerous implications of this trend on national security and stability. She highlighted how various actors, including foreign governments, NGOs, and terrorist organizations, exploit antisemitism to sow discord and undermine democracies.
Newsmax reached out to Lipstadt’s office for further clarification on which specific media outlets were perpetuating antisemitism, but did not receive a response prior to publication.
Congress and numerous media outlets have focused on the connection between antisemitism and college campuses, particularly in light of recent events involving protests against Israel. House Speaker Mike Johnson visited Colombia University during student protests against Israel’s military actions in Gaza, underscoring the ongoing debate surrounding antisemitism in educational institutions.
