JD Vance for VP gains momentum in Turning Point straw poll
According to a recent straw poll, Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, emerged as the top choice to be former President Donald Trump’s running mate. The poll took place during Turning Point Action’s The People’s Convention in Detroit, with 1,986 attendees participating.
The Daily Mail reported that Vance received 43% support, making him the clear favorite. Sen. Tim Scott, R-S.C., was the second-highest choice at 15.4%, followed closely by Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum.
Charlie Kirk, the founder of Turning Point Action and Turning Point USA, praised Vance’s ability to connect with Midwest voters and defend Trump’s policies effectively. Kirk believes that Vance’s message resonates with crucial voting blocs that the Republican Party needs to win over in the upcoming election.
Although Trump is known for changing his mind, he is expected to announce his running mate at the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, starting on July 15. The survey of potential VP picks was conducted by Big Data Poll and The People’s Pundit.
