Sharon Stone reveals she was exploited after stroke and lost millions in savings, says people took advantage of her

Sharon Stone discussed how she was financially exploited while recovering from a life-threatening stroke. The iconic actress suffered a stroke in 2001, causing a nine-day brain bleed and a seven-year hiatus from Hollywood.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stone revealed, “People took advantage of me during that time. I had $18m (£14m) saved up from my success, but it was all gone when I checked my bank account. My possessions, like my refrigerator and phone, were in other people’s names. I was left with nothing.”

Despite the ordeal, Stone chooses to focus on positivity. She said, “I decided to let go of bitterness and anger. I strive to live in the present and find joy and purpose in my life.”

Stone’s stroke altered her brain function, leading to sensory changes. She shared, “I had a near-death experience and had to relearn how to function. Many thought I wouldn’t survive.”

In a previous interview with Vogue, Stone disclosed how doctors initially dismissed her symptoms as fake, overlooking a brain hemorrhage. She now takes daily medication to manage her condition and advocates for neurological health awareness.
