During his anticipated solo press appearance in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, President Joe Biden mistakenly called Vice President Kamala Harris “Vice President Trump.”

“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president [if] I think she’s not qualified to be president,” Biden stated.
As the president fielded questions from reporters, he made several errors and appeared to lose his train of thought.
In another slip-up during the press conference, Biden mistakenly referred to his chief of staff as “my commander in chief” before correcting himself.
Following his shaky debate performance on June 27th against former President Donald Trump, Biden aimed to demonstrate his ability to handle challenging issues without a script at Thursday’s press conference.
Earlier that night, during a NATO event honoring Ukraine, Biden mistakenly called Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, “President Putin.”
“And now I want to hand it over to the President of Ukraine, who has as much courage as he has determination. Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin,” Biden said, before eventually correcting himself.
At one point, Biden also exclaimed: “control guns, not girls!”
The pressure was higher this time for the president due to his reelection prospects being at risk, causing concern among nervous Democrats who once defended his fitness for office.
Several Democratic figures have publicly urged Biden to step aside and left-leaning donors have paused financial support until a new presidential candidate emerges.
Social media users took to Twitter to mock Biden’s slip-ups.
