Hunt’s Kids Leave Messages at Downing Street for New Generation of Starmers
Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer shared that his children received thoughtful messages from the previous occupants of the 11 Downing Street flat.
Sir Keir Starmer’s children found notes from Jeremy Hunt’s children in the Downing Street flat that will soon be their new home.
After the Labour victory, Mr. Hunt’s children – Jack, Anna, and Eleanor – moved out of the No 11 flat.
Sir Keir expressed that it was touching that they left messages for his 16-year-old son and 13-year-old daughter.
He mentioned to reporters: “Jeremy Hunt’s children left notes for our kids as we move into the Number 11 flat.
“We haven’t fully settled in yet because we didn’t want the kids to be alone while we were away, but it was really thoughtful of them to leave those notes, especially since it can be impactful for children.
“They have been through it themselves, and for them to show such consideration is truly special … our children were thrilled to receive those messages.”
The Starmers will be moving into the larger flat above 11 Downing Street, an upgrade from their previous accommodation in No 10.
The quick transition for Sir Keir and his family led them to attending a dinner at the White House with NATO leaders and partners less than a week after the election.
Sir Keir mentioned: “It’s a significant change for Vic and especially for the kids. Vic is excited about it and it’s reassuring to have her with me for this summit.
“We want to take more time with the kids … we haven’t fully moved in as we didn’t want them alone while we were away this week, so we’ll take our time with that.”
