After surviving near-freezing temperatures and snow blindness in the Arctic of Canada, Raymond Aaron no longer gets bothered by trivial matters.
Now 79 years old, the well-known author and public speaker took part in the Polar Race in 2007, racing from Resolute, Nunavut, to the North Magnetic Pole.
The grueling 17-day journey was unforgettable for the then 62-year-old, helping him get into the best physical shape of his life and transform his perspective on life.
He now appreciates all aspects of life and doesn’t get phased by difficulties or physical discomfort.
His experience in the race pushed him so far out of his comfort zone that he no longer has a comfort zone, leading him to adopt a new outlook on life.
Preparing for the Race
Mr. Aaron, always seeking adventure, prepared rigorously for the Polar Race after running marathons and taking up various challenging physical activities over the years.
Before the race, he underwent extensive training and physical conditioning, including running up and down stairs with increasing intensity.
With dedication and perseverance, he got himself ready for the challenging adventure ahead.
