Nick Saban Unlikely to Be Kamala Harris’ VP Pick with 250-1 Odds

According to an online sportsbook, retired college football coach Nick Saban is a long-shot contender to become Vice President Kamala Harris’ running mate.

BetOnline reveals that Saban, aged 72, has odds of 250-1 for being nominated, the same odds as billionaire talk show host Oprah Winfrey. Other unlikely choices include actor George Clooney at 100-1 odds and former first lady Michelle Obama at 28-1 odds.

The top choices, as per BetOnline, are Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro at 7-4 odds, North Dakota Gov. Roy Cooper at 3-1 odds, and Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear at 5-1 odds.

Saban, who will be appearing on ESPN’s “College Gameday” as an analyst, retired from the Alabama Crimson Tide in January, having secured seven national championships as a head coach.

Alabama Democrats reportedly wanted Saban, who supported independent West Virginia Sen. Joe Manchin in his 2018 Senate run as a Democrat, to run for Senate against Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., but it did not happen. Fox News indicates that there is no evidence of Saban ever contemplating a Senate run.
