Woman Fatally Attacked While Walking Dog

The grandmother was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge on Wednesday but unfortunately passed away from her injuries on Sunday morning, as confirmed by the police.

A woman who was left in a serious condition following an attempted murder in Brantham, Suffolk, has tragically died.

Police received a call from the East of England Ambulance Service around 8 a.m. on Wednesday reporting that a woman had been discovered injured and unconscious on a track near Rectory Lane, Brantham.

Anita Rose, 57, had left her home at 5 a.m. to walk her Springer Spaniel dog in the village, according to a statement from the police to The Epoch Times.

At 6:25 a.m., Ms. Rose was found unconscious on a track road near a sewage works and railway line by a member of the public.

She was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital for treatment but sadly passed away on Sunday morning.

A 45-year-old man was arrested on Sunday afternoon on suspicion of attempted murder and taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

He was later re-arrested on suspicion of murder.

Additionally, a 37-year-old woman from the Ipswich area was arrested for suspicion of handling stolen goods in connection to the incident and was also taken to the Martlesham centre for questioning.

Both individuals have been released on police bail under conditions to return on Oct. 25.

Police confirmed that Ms. Rose’s missing iPhone has been located and retrieved.

However, the victim’s distinctive pink zip-jacket that she was believed to be wearing is still missing.

Detective Superintendent Mike Brown of Suffolk Police stated, “This is a very serious incident resulting in Anita’s unfortunate passing.

“The family is being supported by specially trained police officers as part of the investigation.”

The crime scene on Rectory Lane has been cleared, but Mr. Brown mentioned that the investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the attack is ongoing.

“We urge anyone who may have witnessed anything on Wednesday that could be helpful to the police investigation, especially those with CCTV or doorbell cameras in the area, to come forward,” Mr. Brown added.

‘Loved in the Community’

Suffolk Police released a statement on behalf of Ms. Rose’s family, expressing: “Our mother was a beloved figure in the community.

“She was unjustly taken from us too soon, and we have been robbed of precious time with her.”

“She was not just a mother of six, but also a grandmother to 13, a long-time partner, a mother-in-law, and a special friend to many,” the family shared.

“Someone out there must have information, and we implore them to come forward.”

The family expressed gratitude for the continued support from the public, advising everyone to “cherish the time spent with family and loved ones.”
