Microsoft Resolves Technical Issues Caused by Surprising Increase in Usage
Microsoft confirms that the technical difficulties from Tuesday have been resolved.
In a post on X, the company states that after thorough monitoring, the access and performance issues affecting multiple Microsoft 365 services have been cleared.
Earlier in the day, Microsoft mentioned on its website that an unexpected increase in usage caused two Azure components to perform below acceptable levels, resulting in intermittent errors, timeouts, and latency spikes.
Microsoft believed that network configuration changes it implemented successfully mitigated the impacts of the usage spike.
However, these changes caused some side effects on certain services, and the company is working to address them.
Previously, Microsoft’s website stated that the issues were felt globally, including by users in Canada who reported login, Outlook, and website problems on Downdetector.ca.
