Katzberg from Canada Achieves Olympic Gold in Men’s Hammer Throw

Ethan Katzberg of Canada secured the gold medal in the men’s hammer throw at the Paris Olympics, solidifying his position as a dominant figure in the sport. Last year, he became the youngest world champion.

With a distinctive appearance featuring a moustache and long curly hair, 22-year-old Katzberg made an impressive first throw of 84.12 meters, leaving his competitors unable to match his performance.

Bence Halasz of Hungary claimed the silver medal with a throw of 79.97 meters, while Mykhaylo Kokhan of Ukraine took home the bronze with 79.39 meters.

The competition saw a shift in leadership as the defending Olympic champion, Wojciech Nowicki of Poland (35 years old), finished in seventh place. His teammate, Pawel Fajdek, who won bronze in Tokyo, landed in fifth place and graciously acknowledged the crowd after his final throw.

Eivind Henriksen of Norway, the silver medalist in Tokyo, finished in fourth place in Paris.
