X battles for freedom of speech in the face of GARM and their (completely fabricated) misinformation campaign
Elon Musk’s social-media company, X, is actively opposing the Global Alliance for Responsible Media, an organization accused of suppressing speech under the guise of combating disinformation.
Under the leadership of CEO Linda Yaccarino, X has filed an anti-trust lawsuit against GARM, its parent organization the World Federation of Advertisers, and several prominent companies affiliated with the WFA.
GARM, formed under the WFA, is controlled by the World Federation of Advertisers, a global cartel that dominates 90% of the world’s ad spending, and is led by Rob Rakowitz.
Rakowitz and his team use questionable methods like the Global Disinformation Index, along with evident political biases, to target websites spreading what they claim to be misinformation and disinformation. However, much of the targeted information is found to be accurate.
Sites like RealClearPolitics and Reason are blacklisted solely for their right- or libertarian-leaning perspectives.
It’s crucial to understand that “disinformation” often refers to facts that are inconvenient for Democrats.
Rakowitz openly admitted in emails to targeting X after Musk dismantled the previous Twitter censorship system. He faced scrutiny from the House Judiciary Committee during a recent hearing.
In addition to X’s lawsuit, several state attorneys general, including Missouri’s Andrew Bailey and Montana’s Austin Knudsen, are considering taking legal action against these partisan speech regulators.
The ongoing information war led by leftists against dissenting voices is a concerning trend. The resistance put up by X and others is a positive development in defense of freedom.
