$23 Million Paid Out in COVID-19 Vaccine Compensation, Only 8% of Claims Approved

The Australian government has received over 4,300 vaccine injury claims and paid out approximately $23 million (US$15 million) in compensation.

Statistics provided to The Epoch Times show that 8.34% of claims made to the government’s compensation scheme have resulted in payouts.

“As of July 31, 2024, the COVID-19 Vaccine Claims Scheme has received 4,389 claims and approved 366 claims totaling around $23 million,” stated the agency to the Epoch Times.

The COVID-19 vaccine claims scheme enables individuals to claim losses exceeding $1,000 related to “moderate to severe adverse reactions to COVID-19 vaccines.”

The scheme covers vaccines endorsed by the TGA including AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, and Novavax doses.

The claims are managed by government agency Services Australia on behalf of the Department of Health and Aged Care.
