Court documents reveal details of Friends star Matthew Perry’s final hours before fatal drug overdose | US News
The tragic final hours leading up to the passing of Friends actor Matthew Perry due to a drug overdose have been revealed in recent court documents.
Perry was discovered deceased at his residence in Los Angeles, at the age of 54, on 28 October last year.
According to court documents reported by Sky News’ US partner NBC News, the actor was consuming ketamine six to eight times a day before his untimely demise.
Five individuals have been charged in connection to Perry’s death, including his live-in aide Kenneth Iwamasa, a doctor named Salvador Plasencia (referred to as “Dr. P”), and Jasveen Sangha, also known as the “Ketamine Queen“.
Allegedly, Sangha sold the drug to Eric Fleming, another defendant and an acquaintance of Perry, who then sold it to his assistant.
It was reported that Perry, through Iwamasa, paid Plasencia a minimum of $55,000 (£42,500) in the month leading up to his death for ketamine.
Iwamasa, Fleming, and a second doctor, Mark Chavez, who provided ketamine received through a fraudulent prescription from Plasencia, all pleaded guilty to the charges against them.
Plasencia and Sangha pleaded not guilty and are expected to stand trial.
‘Shoot me up with a big one’
As per the court documents, on the day of Perry’s passing, Iwamasa allegedly injected the actor with his first dose of ketamine at 8:30 am.
Later, he administered a second dose at 12:45 pm while Perry was watching a movie.
The prosecutor’s document claimed that around 40 minutes later, Perry asked for another injection of ketamine, resulting in Iwamasa giving him his third dose in six hours before leaving to run errands.
Upon returning, Iwamasa found Perry lifeless in the water.
