Migrant child steals from subway passenger: Personal account

The Problem: An arrest of a young Venezuelan migrant for theft and assault on a subway passenger.

An article in the Post reported on an 11-year-old boy from Venezuela who allegedly attacked and robbed someone on the 7 train by stealing their cell phone, and it’s a tragic situation (“Video of kid thug ‘beaters’,” Aug. 16).

It is concerning to see migrant children involved in criminal activities. The safety of New York City is worsening with each passing week. What steps will be taken to address this issue?

What actions is Mayor Adams taking to resolve this issue? There seems to be a reluctance to take meaningful measures to protect New Yorkers.

The NYPD needs the full support of the Mayor as they address the rising criminal presence in our streets and subways. Crime rates in our city are escalating.

The news about the 11-year-old migrant being involved in robbery is alarming. What future crimes will he commit when he grows older?

There seems to be no appreciation from illegal immigrants for the hospitality they receive. Perhaps a precedent should be set to immediately deport them and their families after the first offense.

Knowing that committing a crime leads to automatic deportation from America might deter them from engaging in criminal activities.

New Yorkers should be able to walk the streets freely, enjoy parks, and maintain their quality of life without the fear of being victimized by illegal immigrants among us.

As juvenile crime continues to rise in our city, it appears that many young individuals are mirroring the violence depicted in the movie “A Clockwork Orange.” Incidents of assaults, thefts, and other crimes are increasing. Why would tourists want to visit such a place?

Residents of New York must confront the reality of dealing with crime, whether it’s being run down by a migrant on a moped or robbed by an 11-year-old Venezuelan illegal immigrant. Diversity may be touted as a strength, but it comes at a cost.

The rise of criminal activities by young migrants in the city is concerning. New Yorkers are bearing the consequences of this increase in violence. It’s only a matter of time before these young offenders cause serious harm.

Even then, family court proceedings often result in lenient punishment, disregarding the victims of these crimes.

Youth from South America, ranging from 11 to 25 years old, face bleak prospects. Policies from Mayor Adams and the Biden administration have inadvertently led to these individuals coming to New York, where they resort to crime due to language barriers and lack of opportunities.

Taxpayers bear the burden of these actions, with women being victimized and assaulted. The situation is intolerable, and the fabric of our society is deteriorating.

New York’s welcoming policy towards unvetted individuals has resulted in the city grappling with the consequences. Increased crime rates, reluctance to hold criminals accountable, and disorder in schools have created a chaotic environment.

To combat the decay of New York, it is imperative to replace career politicians with reform-minded leaders. Otherwise, the city’s future will continue to dim.
