Columbia declares it safe for increased antisemitic violence this autumn

According to a recent report from the House Committee on Education and the Workforce, not a single Columbia student who was arrested for participating in the pro-Hamas occupation of Hamilton Hall has been expelled.

Zero students have faced expulsion for their actions.

This is a stark contrast to the consequences students face for other infractions, such as misgendering someone on campus.

Engaging in unlawful behavior and tactics to support a genocidal terror group like Hamas seems to be acceptable at this prestigious Ivy League institution.

Even more concerning is the fact that out of the 22 students arrested during the incident, 18 are still in good academic standing.

This leniency would be unimaginable if the students were advocating for any other cause.

This lack of consequence exposes the hypocrisy of the university’s claims to take antisemitic violence seriously and highlights the culture of hate and intimidation towards Jewish students that is tolerated by the faculty and student body.

The normalization of Jew-hate is a byproduct of the prevalent critical race theory in today’s universities.

Representative Virginia Foxx (R-NC) accurately criticized Columbia for allowing these actions to go unpunished, stating, “Columbia has waved the white flag in surrender while offering up a get-out-of-jail-free card to those who participated in these unlawful actions.”

While the departure of President Minouche Shafik is a positive step, it is evident that the school needs to be held accountable to prevent further acts of antisemitism.

Kudos to Foxx and her committee for shedding light on this issue when the media may prefer to ignore it.

Jewish students at Columbia and other elite campuses should prepare for a potentially violent fall as the school appears to have declared open season on them.
