In his second term, Trump can effectively address border security and dismantle cartels

The utmost responsibility of the President is to ensure the defense of our nation — a duty that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have failed to fulfill for four years.

The escalating threats from China, Iran, and Russia underscore the need for a proactive strategy to deter, dismantle, and eliminate our enemies’ capacity to harm America, rather than just reacting to their actions.

The most alarming neglect of this principle is evident at our border with Mexico.

By allowing transnational drug cartels to operate freely, Biden and Harris have enabled a significant threat to America’s security to thrive.

The upcoming administration must address and rectify the crisis at the border created by Biden and Harris.

To start, securing our border is imperative. Enforcing the ‘Remain in Mexico’ policies negotiated during the Trump administration and upholding the law as the only entry route into the country are essential steps.

Utilizing military resources under NORTHCOM’s command to complete the border wall efficiently and maintaining these resources until migrant flow decreases is crucial.

Effective implementation of these measures is vital to ensuring national security.

Furthermore, the focus should be on dismantling and eradicating the primary driver of illegal immigration: transnational drug cartels engaged in human trafficking, drug production, and distribution.

Combatting the cartels is a daunting but necessary endeavor, given the devastating impact of their activities on American lives and security.

The proposed policies and actions will require long-term dedication and a revamped approach to Mexico-US relations.

By designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations, a strong message will be sent internationally about America’s commitment to combating this threat.

Americans must elect leaders serious about addressing the cartels and securing the border; only then can the national security Americans deserve be ensured.
