City Council shames itself by attempting to lynch Randy Mastro

During this week’s confirmation hearing for Randy Mastro, selected by Mayor Adams as the city’s top attorney, the City Council revealed themselves as a group of deceptive bigots.

Mastro, a prominent lawyer in the city, proved his qualifications to lead the Law Department and provide legal advice to the Adams administration as corporation counsel.

On the other hand, the council’s progressive majority spent a rude and distorted “questioning” session of 11 hours.

“Madam Speaker, I believe I would excel as the best lawyer, please give me the chance. I will earn your trust,” Randy Mastro pleaded. “But you’re not asking the question,” replied Deputy Speaker Diana Ayala.

The progs focused on his time in the Giuliani administration, his defense of former Governor Chris Christie in the Bridgegate scandal, and a recent lawsuit over congestion pricing in New York.

Williams personally acknowledged he would hire Mastro for his legal representation, yet he opposes the opportunity for the mayor.

Adams commented on the hearing representing “the beauty of democracy in America” and “an amazing process.”

In contrast, Mastro displayed reason, patience, and a strong defense of his public service and legal work, while the council members exhibited biased behavior.

The council’s agenda is to prevent Mastro from helping Adams implement his policies and, instead, have top aides conform to their hard-left ideology.

Adams aims to avoid conflict, emphasizing the importance of democracy and the hearing process.

Ultimately, the council’s behavior is not just denying New York of an honorable and qualified individual, but it is also creating an environment hostile to decent individuals of any race, gender, or class.
