Passengers on Delta flight from Salt Lake City diverted after experiencing ear bleeding- US News

Passengers on a Delta Air Lines flight experienced a frightening cabin pressure issue that resulted in some individuals bleeding from their noses and ears. The incident forced Flight 1203 to divert back to Salt Lake City in Utah on Sunday, where at least 10 people required medical attention, as reported by the US media.

Jaci Purser, a passenger on the flight, shared with local news outlet KSL-TV that she felt as though someone was stabbing her in the ear due to the intense pressure. She described feeling her ear pop and then bubble, eventually leading to blood on her hand. Purser was ultimately diagnosed with a ruptured eardrum.

Another passenger recounted seeing her husband hunched over with his hands covering his ears and witnessing another man suffer from a nosebleed.

All affected passengers were treated and later released. Delta Airlines acknowledged the pressurization issues on the Boeing 737-900 and the disruptions faced by passengers on Flight 1203, expressing sincere apologies for the ordeal.

The airline stated, “We sincerely apologise to our customers for their experience on Flight 1203 on 15 September. The flight crew followed procedures to return to SLC where our teams on the ground supported our customers with their immediate needs.”
