Blinken Calls on Foreign Ministers to Condemn Maduro’s Power Grab following Election in Venezuela

During a meeting with foreign ministers in New York on Thursday, Secretary of State Antony Blinken called on foreign leaders to oppose Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s attempts to consolidate his power. The U.S. government has imposed sanctions on the Maduro regime and several of its allies in response to Venezuela’s actions.
