Man in Zurich Attacks and Injures 3 Children, Swiss Police Report

According to Swiss police, a man attacked and injured three young children as they were on their way to a day care center in Zurich on Tuesday. The suspect has been arrested.

The incident took place in the Oerlikon district of Switzerland’s largest city, with authorities being notified shortly after midday. The children, accompanied by a day care center employee, were attacked by the man while heading to the facility.

The employee, along with the assistance of another man, managed to subdue the attacker until police arrived on the scene. The suspect is identified as a 23-year-old Chinese national.

Three 5-year-old boys were taken to hospitals, with one sustaining serious injuries and the other two with injuries of medium severity, as stated by the police.

Authorities have not disclosed any information regarding a potential motive for the attack.
