Scammers advertise thousands of fake Oasis tickets ahead of North America tour sale commencement | US News
Oasis have issued a warning to fans about the presence of thousands of fake tickets for their upcoming North America tour being advertised before the official sale has even begun.
A statement on the band’s official X account said: “Please be cautious. Thousands of counterfeit Oasis tickets have already been identified on StubHub and Vivid Seats, despite the fact that the North America tour has not yet gone on sale!”
The statement directed readers to a letter published by the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) on Wednesday, a day before pre-sale tickets were made available, which revealed that at least 9,000 fake tickets had been listed for the highly anticipated US shows.
“Not only are these tickets fake, but they are being sold at significantly higher prices than the face value of genuine tickets,” NIVA stated.
The association alleged that StubHub had 2,177 counterfeit ticket listings for three of the shows, and approximately 3,450 fake tickets were found on Vivid Seats.
Tickets for the tour, which includes stops in cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, and Mexico City, are not set to be officially released for purchase until October 4th, with pre-sale tickets becoming available the day before.
This warning follows the band’s previous caution regarding the resale of tickets for their UK reunion tour dates at inflated prices.
