According to ABC News, Payne had multiple substances in his body during his death, including “pink cocaine,” which is a recreational drug that typically is a mix of several drugs, including methamphetamine, ketamine, MDMA, and others, as well as cocaine, benzodiazepine, and crack.

Sources have also reported that an improvised aluminum pipe to ingest drugs was also found in his hotel room.

ABC News also reported that Payne’s body is set to remain in Argentina until the full autopsy is released.

Hotel officials had called authorities minutes prior to Payne’s death on October 16th and had asked to “send someone with urgency” due to a guest they said was “drunk with drugs and alcohol.”

“We need to send someone with urgency because I don’t know if the guest’s life is in danger because he is in a room with a balcony, and we are afraid he could do something that threatens life,” the worker told emergency services.

Head of the State Emergency Medical System Alberto Crescenti said that when authorities arrived at the hotel, they found his body in the inner courtyard of the hotel, where he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Argentinian Public Prosecutor’s Office said in a preliminary autopsy report that they found that the singer died of “multiple traumas” and “internal and external bleeding.”

It also stated that 25 injuries were reported on Payne’s body and that his head injuries were sufficient to cause death, and the cause of death was related to the height of his fall.

According to Argentinian State Police, officials have interviewed a hotel employee who is suspected of providing Payne with drugs on the day he died. That employee has not been arrested, and no charges have been filed against them as of yet.
