LeBron James and Bronny James have made history by becoming the first father and son duo to play together in the NBA.

In the LA Lakers’ season opener against the Minnesota Timberwolves, LeBron James took the court alongside his 20-year-old son.

The crowd at the Crypto.com Arena gave them a huge ovation as they created this milestone moment.

During the second quarter, they had about two and a half minutes of playing time together.

Although Bronny didn’t score during his brief appearance, he still received applause when he left the court with 1:19 remaining in the game.

LeBron, who holds the all-time NBA points record, is widely considered one of the greatest basketball players ever.

LeBron finished the game with 16 points and led the Lakers to a 110-103 victory.

The 39-year-old had always talked about his desire to share the court with his son, who was selected by the Lakers in the second round of the draft in June.

“That moment, with us at the scorer’s table together and checking in together, is a moment that will stay with me forever,” LeBron said.

“No matter how old I get, or how my memory may fade, I will never forget that moment.”

Bronny shared with the media: “(I) tried not to focus on everything going on around me and just focus on being a rookie and not making mistakes.”

“But I did feel the energy, and I’m grateful to Laker Nation for supporting me and my dad.”

Bronny underwent open-heart surgery last year after experiencing a cardiac arrest and had a shortened freshman season at the University of Southern California before entering the NBA draft.
