Rand Paul Fully Supports Deporting Criminal Illegal Immigrants, but Disagrees with Using Military Force
The Kentucky Republican, Sen. Rand Paul, stated that while he supports President-elect Donald Trump’s mass deportation plans for illegal immigrants, he strongly opposes involving the military in this task. He believes that law enforcement should handle deportations instead of the military, as using military assets for this purpose would create negative optics.
During a recent appearance on CBS’s “Face The Nation” on Nov. 24, Paul expressed his concerns about the Trump administration potentially using the military for deportations. He emphasized his support for deporting criminal illegal immigrants but reiterated his stance against military involvement in domestic matters.
Paul stated, “I will not support and will not vote to use the military in our cities,” explaining that he views it as a negative portrayal.
“I’m all in for going after the criminals, such as murderers and sexual assault perpetrators, but using the military is not the right approach,” Paul added.
