Top Concerns for Employers: Inflation and Employee Burnout Identified in HOOPP Poll


A recent study indicates that Canadian businesses are primarily concerned with inflation and employee burnout for the current year and the following year.

According to a survey conducted by the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan and Angus Reid Group, 78 percent of the participants reported that inflation had a negative impact on their business in the present year, which is an increase from 71 percent in 2023.

Employee burnout was the second most significant concern, with 68 percent of businesses stating that it was affecting their operations, compared to 69 percent last year.

Concerns about inflation and employee burnout persist for the upcoming year, with 72 percent of businesses expressing worry about these issues.

The study also revealed that 72 percent of businesses acknowledge a productivity crisis within the Canadian economy, and 90 percent believe that business productivity is directly linked to employee productivity.

The findings were based on an online survey conducted from August 12 to 22, involving 759 Canadian businesses.
