Media Misrepresented Joe Biden for Years, and He Just Exposed Their Sycophancy

When a Republican strategist had the audacity — nay, the gall — to propose that Biden might renege on his word, CNN’s Abby Phillip, clearly irritated, countered him by stating that the president had “ruled out” a pardon for Hunter.

And yet, just like that, everything changed.

On Sunday, Biden declared that he had indeed pardoned his son, not only for the gun and tax offenses but also for all illegal activities he may have committed over the past decade.

When questioned about the stunning shift on Monday, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre asserted that Biden believed “war politics” had “tainted the process.”

If you’re curious what that actually involves, the answer is nothing.

It’s convoluted jargon, lacking any substantive explanation.

The media tends to create an elaborate narrative about their role in order to sustain their endeavors and bolster their reputations.

In their narrative, they see themselves as defenders of Democracy, positioned uniquely and eager to challenge those in power.

When Democrats hold power, the majority of the press views their job as safeguarding it rather than holding it accountable.

It is only when Republicans are in charge that they activate the critical instinct that should define every astute journalist.

The media has been complicit in Biden’s misleading claims regarding The Post’s accurate reporting on Hunter Biden’s laptop during the lead-up to the 2020 election.

The media turned a blind eye to Biden’s rapidly declining condition.

And it has played a role in shaping the image of a noble, public-spirited Joe Biden that never truly existed.

During Trump’s initial term, journalists fretted about “democracy in darkness.”

On the campaign trail, Biden vowed to “restore the soul” of the nation.

Such lofty rhetoric stems from the inflated self-perceptions that afflict America’s progressive elite.

Their absurd belief that they represent all that is virtuous — and their vilification of their adversaries as embodiments of evil — drives some to deceit and blinds others to truths that the rest of us find obvious.

Now, as the curtain draws on his unsuccessful presidency and regrettable political narrative, there is one undeniable reality.

Joe Biden has not only shattered his own legacy but also that of those who stood up for him.
