Trump Appoints Monica Crowley as Chief of Protocol
The position involves managing logistics for foreign leaders’ visits, including their accommodations at Blair House, which is situated directly across from the White House.
On December 4, President-elect Donald Trump nominated Monica Crowley for the role of chief of protocol, a State Department position responsible for overseeing the visits of foreign dignitaries to the White House.
This ambassador-level role mandates Senate confirmation.
Monica Crowley, 56, previously served as the assistant Treasury secretary for public affairs in the first Trump administration. She has also worked as a commentator on Fox News and as an editor for The Washington Times.
Cam Henderson served as the chief of protocol during the first Trump administration.
During his tenure, Henderson was present for the ceremonial signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020, marking Israel’s normalization of relations with the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain, followed by Sudan and Morocco’s participation in the accords.
