Alvin Bragg Poses a Threat to Our Society and Should be Removed

As the jury deliberates in the Danny Penny trial, it is painfully clear that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg must be removed from his position.

This case should never have reached the courtroom.

The prosecution’s witnesses confirmed that every reasonable person on that subway — seasoned commuters — feared for their safety when Jordan Neely rushed in, making death threats and lunging at other passengers.

Penny acted heroically to protect those individuals.

Although it’s tragic that Neely lost his life, Penny was not solely responsible for that tragedy: the failure to treat Neely’s severe schizophrenia (notably, he had skipped out on treatment just two months before the incident) and his deteriorating physical health, including drugs in his system at the time of death, contributed significantly.

The city’s medical examiner hastily declared a homicide, relying solely on video evidence without waiting for toxicology results.

Yet Bragg, catering to racially charged “activists,” proceeded to file second-degree manslaughter charges alongside negligent homicide as a backup, hoping the jury would settle on a lesser charge.

Even if Penny is acquitted, his ordeal sends a chilling message to all New Yorkers: don’t consider intervening to protect the innocent.

This isn’t Bragg’s only controversial action.

Take, for instance, his prosecution of Jose Alba, a bodega worker who, while defending himself from an attack in his store, accidentally killed an assailant — charges were only dropped when the public backlash became unavoidable.

Or his delayed indictment of a police officer for punching an unruly suspect (who was unharmed) while removing him from an Apple Store on the Upper West Side.

Then there’s the case of Scotty Enoe, a CVS employee, who fatally stabbed a repeat shoplifter after the homeless man brandished a knife against him.

This DA consistently sides with criminals, taking a stand against those who defend themselves.

Moreover, the resources squandered on his politically motivated pursuits — such as the absurd case against now-President-elect Donald Trump for alleged 2017 bookkeeping errors supposedly linked to the 2016 election — are alarming.

With the help of a compliant partisan judge, Bragg managed to achieve felony convictions, creating a talking point for Democrats in the recent election cycle — yet the ridiculous nature of the case only amplified Trump’s accusations of being a victim of rampant “lawfare.”

This situation is unlikely to withstand an appeal if Trump is ever allowed to challenge the conviction.

Beyond these issues, Bragg’s approach, which began with his notorious “Day One” memo, which limited prosecution of various offenses and restricted the sentences sought, has been undeniably pro-criminal.

He is a danger to the city, and it’s time for him to go.
