UPDATE 12:30 PM– The tsunami warning for Northern California has been lifted after a significant earthquake.

11:57 AM- A powerful earthquake in Northern California has triggered a tsunami warning.
The earthquake, initially registered at a magnitude of 6.6 off the coast of Humboldt County, has been revised to 7.0 by the U.S. Geological Survey.
The epicenter was located approximately 61 miles west-southwest of Ferndale in Humboldt County, with the tremor occurring at 10:44 a.m.
In the aftermath of the initial quake, a 5.8 magnitude aftershock was recorded near Cobb, California, in Lake County.
A tsunami warning has been issued along the California Coast, impacting nearly 5 million residents.
This earthquake represents the largest seismic event in California in five years, following a 7.1 magnitude quake in Ridgecrest in 2019.
