Melania Trump Attributes 2024 Election Victory to Son Barron’s Support for President-Elect
Barron Trump “knew exactly whom his father should reach out to and converse with,” she informed Fox News on Friday.
In her first interview following the election, Melania Trump mentioned that President-elect Donald Trump is taking advice from their 18-year-old son, Barron Trump, attributing Barron’s insights as a factor in his father’s success in the 2024 presidential election.
During an appearance on “Fox & Friends,” the future first lady stated that Barron was “very vocal” in advising his father on various media appearances to capture a more favorable reaction from younger audiences.
“He is a grown young man, and I’m immensely proud of him for his political knowledge and his ability to provide advice to his father—he attracted many young people. He understands his generation well, as the younger crowd doesn’t spend time in front of the TV anymore,” Melania Trump shared.
As the 2024 presidential race neared its conclusion, Trump appeared on numerous popular podcasts, including Joe Rogan’s, which has millions of followers, along with others like Theo Von, Lex Fridman, Adin Ross, and more. Vice President-elect JD Vance also made appearances on various podcasts, including Rogan’s show just days after Trump.
Earlier this year, the president-elect expressed his trust in his son’s political insights.
“He’s seen it. He doesn’t need to hear much. He is very intelligent. But … he’s an amazing guy,” Trump remarked in an interview with Philadelphia’s Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, while he was undergoing trial in New York City over charges of falsifying business records.
Melania Trump also addressed how their son copes with college life as the son of a former and now incoming president. Currently, Barron Trump, an 18-year-old freshman, is enrolled at New York University in Manhattan.
“I doubt he can lead a normal student life,” Melania Trump commented during the interview. “This is your path,” she advised her son. “This is your life.”
In this discussion, the future first lady noted that the preparations for returning to the White House this time have markedly changed from her initial experience. She and her husband are more aware of what to anticipate now, she stated.
“I know what you need to set up, and you know what kind of staff you need to hire for your office,” she revealed in the rare television appearance, where she also promoted the holiday ornaments she is selling alongside her memoir as Christmas nears.
She further noted that her husband’s demeanor following his 2024 victory differed from his reaction to his 2016 win.
“The country and the people truly supported him,” she emphasized. “I believe the energy is different. The people around him have changed.”
Additionally, she described her experience writing her memoir, which was released several months ago, as a journey that was “very personal and could sometimes be very joyful, but also challenging and hard.” In the book, titled “Melania,” she elaborated on her emotions after discovering that her husband had been shot in the right ear during a rally in Pennsylvania in July.
Her husband is scheduled to be inaugurated for his second presidential term in about a month and a half, on January 20, 2025. The new Congress will officially certify the results of the November presidential election on January 6, 2025.
