The Democratic governors from across the country are gathering this weekend in Los Angeles.
The nation’s Democratic governors are convening this weekend in Los Angeles, where California Governor Gavin Newsom will host them for the annual winter meeting of the Democratic Governors Association (DGA).

Also present will be New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, and Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, who was Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate last month.
Newsom, currently serving his second term as the governor of the most populated state, convened a special session of the California legislature this week.

“As instructed by authorities, my team at the Capitol evacuated promptly. I appreciate the efforts of the California Highway Patrol, Capitol security, and local law enforcement for their continuous work to ensure our safety,” Gallagher remarked.
