Ingrid Martin-Lewis confirmed her resignation on Sunday, which takes effect immediately, arriving a month earlier than anticipated.

Martin-Lewis is among multiple aides of Adams who have faced scrutiny from the Manhattan District Attorney’s office this year, with investigators seizing her cell phone in September as part of a federal subpoena tied to an ongoing corruption investigation involving Adams.

Although Martin-Lewis has been a strong supporter of Adams for years, sources indicate that their relationship has soured over recent months.

One insider claimed that Martin-Lewis was “in real trouble” as the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office is probing her involvement in city contracts, hinting at the possibility of an impending indictment.

Following the initial raids of Adams’ staff, the mayor opted to allow personnel to resign instead of terminating them. When they did not resign, Martin-Lewis was assigned the responsibility of dismissing them.

Since Adams has faced indictment for allegedly accepting illegal contributions and favors from affluent foreigners, including officials from Turkey, Martin-Lewis has reportedly been included in a list of staff members that Governor Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) has requested be removed from his administration.
