Dow Experiences Longest Decline Since 1974; Supreme Court Considers TikTok’s Ban Challenge




The Federal Reserve has lowered its key interest rate for the third time this year, reducing it by a quarter percentage point. This move contributed to a significant decline in U.S. stocks, marking one of the market’s poorest performances this year, as the Fed indicated that there may be fewer rate cuts in the upcoming year.
The House Ethics Committee has voted to make public its report concerning former Republican Congressman Matt Gaetz, which includes allegations of sexual misconduct. Gaetz has responded by asserting his innocence and claiming full exoneration by the Justice Department.
The Supreme Court has agreed to review TikTok’s appeal to postpone a law that could potentially ban the application starting on January 19. The justices are set to hear oral arguments on January 10.
