Former Chief Adviser to Eric Adams Indicted on Bribery Charges
NEW YORK CITY–Ingrid Lewis-Martin, 63, a former senior aide to New York City Mayor Eric Adams, has been charged with bribery in connection to her son and two real estate investors, with the reported bribes amounting to $100,000.
Additionally, all four individuals were charged with fourth-degree conspiracy.
The $100,000 was reportedly transferred to a company operated by Glen Martin for his DJ business, Suave Productions. He used the funds to buy a Porsche valued at $113,000.
Vaid and Dwivedi are property owners in Manhattan, which includes a rooftop bar named “Glass Ceiling” and the Hotel on Rivington, both of which had pending permits with the Department of Buildings. The purpose of the alleged bribes was for Ingrid Lewis-Martin to leverage her influential role as chief adviser to expedite and approve rejected construction applications.

In an effort to evade detection, it is claimed that Lewis-Martin encouraged the co-defendants to utilize Signal, an encrypted messaging platform.
Lewis-Martin maintains her innocence and denies any wrongdoing.
The mayor expressed his appreciation for Lewis-Martin’s service.
“We’ve always discussed when this day would come, and even though we prepared for it, it remains difficult to accept that Ingrid won’t be nearby every day. I, along with every New Yorker, owe her gratitude for her remarkable service to our city,” he stated.
