OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Family Deny Sister’s Sexual Abuse Allegations in Lawsuit – One America News Network

Ann Altman, sister of OpenAI’s CEO Sam Altman, has filed a legal complaint claiming that she was sexually assaulted by her brother on multiple occasions between 1997 and 2006.
The alleged abuse reportedly began when Ann, known as Annie, was just 3 years old and Sam was 12.

The legal action was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri.
According to the lawsuit, the abuse occurred “several times per week,” initiating with oral sex and escalating to penetrative acts.
The plaintiff states that she has experienced “severe emotional distress, mental anguish, and depression, which is expected to persist into the future” as a direct result of these alleged sexual assaults.
This is not the first time the younger Altman has made allegations against her brother, having previously spoken out on platforms like X, but this marks her initial foray into the legal realm.
Ann’s attorney, Ryan Mahoney, leads an Illinois-based firm that specializes in sexual assault and harassment cases.
The lawsuit seeks a jury trial and damages exceeding $75,000.
Sam Altman has denied the allegations in a joint statement released on X, alongside his siblings Jack and Max, as well as their mother, Connie.
“Annie has made deeply hurtful and entirely untrue claims about our family, and especially Sam,” their statement reads. “We’ve chosen not to respond publicly, out of respect for her privacy and our own. However, she has now taken legal action against Sam, and we feel we have no choice but to address this.”
“All of these claims are utterly untrue,” the family continued, noting that “this situation causes immense pain to our entire family.”
Furthermore, they asserted that their sister/daughter faces “mental health challenges” and that she “refuses conventional treatment, often lashing out at family members who are genuinely trying to help.”
Since the launch of OpenAI’s ChatGPT in November 2022, Sam Altman has gained international recognition. The company, backed by Microsoft, was recently valued at $157 billion.
In November 2023, the board of OpenAI briefly removed Altman from his CEO role, but he was reinstated following pressure from investors and staff.
