CNN political analyst Harry Enten has recently labeled President Joe Biden’s claim that he might have defeated Trump in the 2024 elections as “completely absurd.”

Enten’s remarks came after Biden suggested he could have beaten President-elect Donald Trump if he hadn’t exited the race, saying, “It’s presumptuous to suggest that, but I believe yes.”

Biden went on to express confidence in his chances based on certain polling information he had reviewed, even though public polls typically favored Trump until Biden’s withdrawal.

In response, Enten criticized Biden’s baseless assertions and detailed polling statistics from July, around the time Biden stepped away from the race.

“From the polling data, I label Biden’s statement that he could have beaten Trump as ‘completely absurd.’ When he dropped out, Biden was significantly trailing Trump. He never led at any point during 2024. And no incumbent president who faced such unpopularity as Biden has ever won,” Enten stated in a post on X.

Enten also displayed a map illustrating Trump’s advantage from the time Biden withdrew, showcasing Trump’s lead in all seven key battleground states by significant margins.

The political analyst proceeded to highlight that throughout the entirety of 2024, President Biden did not hold a lead over Trump in the polls for a single day, further dismantling Biden’s unrealistic narrative.

“Let’s review the entire 2024 campaign. Days when Biden led Trump while still a candidate. Here’s the number: zero, nada, not a single day was Biden in front of Donald Trump,” he remarked.

Enten concluded the social media clip by pointing out Biden’s notably low approval rating of -19 points, indicating that none of the six incumbent presidents with negative ratings have successfully been reelected.

Biden had previously exited in July following a troubling performance in a debate against Trump, where mainstream media outlets found it necessary to question Biden’s mental acuity.
