Billie Eilish and Green Day commenced the FireAid benefit concert in Los Angeles on Thursday evening, a remarkable two-venue, five-hour event aimed at raising funds for wildfire relief efforts.
Actor Billy Crystal greeted the audience at the Kia Forum, donning the attire he wore when he fled the Pacific Palisades fire earlier this month. Having resided in the area for 46 years, he shared a heartfelt account of the loss of his home.
Performers like Joni Mitchell, Pink, and Rod Stewart have taken the stage, with the concert expected to wrap up after 8 AM UK time.

In a surprise appearance, Dr. Dre joined Anderson Paak and Sheila E, performing hits like “Still DRE” and the timeless “California Love.”
Upcoming performances include renowned artists such as Stevie Wonder, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Olivia Rodrigo.
Behind the performers, screens projected images of firefighters alongside the devastation caused by the fires. In between musical interludes, survivors shared their stories of losing homes and escaping the flames.

Viewers at home can contribute online. Early in the event, Crystal announced that the band U2 has generously donated $1 million (£804,829).

Steve Ballmer, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, along with his wife Connie, have pledged to match all donations made during the concert.
All proceeds will assist individuals affected by the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles earlier this month.
Tragically, 29 lives were lost in the fires, with thousands of homes and businesses obliterated.
