UFC President Dana White disclosed on Monday that he had advised President Donald Trump to withdraw from the 2024 presidential contest in light of the assassination attempt that occurred in Pennsylvania last July. Trump responded immediately, saying: “You don’t ever quit.”

“The manner in which Trump reacted to the assassination attempt is how every man aspires to respond,” White stated on Monday during an episode of Piers Morgan’s “Uncensored” program.
“He’s one of the most mentally resilient individuals I’ve encountered,” White continued, explaining that he had persistently urged Trump to cease his campaign after a bullet nearly struck him last July.
The shooting incident occurred on July 13th, 2024, during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, where 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks managed to ascend a nearby roof and fired several shots, hitting Trump’s ear and injuring three others—fatally wounding 50-year-old firefighter Corey Comperatore.
“Why are you putting yourself in this position? Stop,” White emphasized. “I have urged him to stop countless times. It’s like, ‘You have such a wonderful life, and there are so many other opportunities for you.’”
“However, President Trump holds a strong belief in God and is very religious… He deeply feels that God has spared his life for a purpose—to serve as president and accomplish the tasks he intends to fulfil in the next four years.”
White mentioned that when he urged Trump to consider dropping out, Trump replied: “I can’t quit. You never quit.”
“He is undoubtedly the most resilient person I have ever met,” White reflected, considering Trump’s remarkable calmness in the aftermath of the assassination attempt. “The very next day, he traveled to Milwaukee for the [Republican National Convention]. Most people who have experienced such an event would be reluctant to leave their home, not to mention dealing with PTSD and various mental challenges.”
