Human Remains Discovered in Suitcase in New York River | US News
Authorities have discovered human remains inside a suitcase retrieved from a river in New York, according to police reports.
The suitcase was located around 5:30 PM local time on Wednesday, close to Governors Island in the East River, as reported by Sky News’ US affiliate, NBC New York.
The harbour unit of the New York City police took possession of the suitcase and transported it to Pier 16, where the individual inside was declared deceased.
The identity of the deceased has yet to be established.

Police are currently uncertain about the age and gender of the deceased but have confirmed that the remains belong to an adult, according to NBC.
The office of the chief medical examiner has stated that it will investigate further to ascertain the cause of death.
