The American Prospect Urges Trump to Learn from Hitler, Ben Rhodes Misunderstands Republican Voters, and More
Chronicle of Disturbing Disinformation and Perilous Delusions
This Recommendation:
“What Trump Might Learn From Hitler on NIH Funding.” — The American Prospect, Monday.
We assert: Leftists during the entirety of the 2024 campaign outrageously and unfoundedly equated Donald Trump with Hitler, and now they expect him to … emulate Hitler?
In this sociopathic argument, Robert Kuttner criticizes the Trump administration for limiting overhead expenses for NIH research grants, contending that “even the Führer understood the importance of supporting German science.”
Even if that were accurate, this is utterly insane. A note for leftists: You should never, under any circumstances, “gotta hand it to” Hitler.
This Column:
“This Isn’t the Donald Trump That America Elected.” — Ben Rhodes, Sunday
We assert: Rhodes, a prominent foreign-policy advisor under President Barack Obama, laments in The New York Times that Trump’s supporters didn’t choose him to implement reforms like dismantling USAID or acquiring Greenland.
Incorrect: Trump’s inclination to cut governmental waste, overhaul bureaucracy, and envision a grand future for America is precisely what led voters to choose him over the establishment — and why his approval ratings remain high.
Rhodes is (as always) in dire need of a reality check.
This Grievance:
“A year ago, you could go days without seeing or thinking about Joe Biden. Now, you’re fortunate if you can go hours without contemplating President Trump.” — CNN’s Brian Stelter, Sunday
We assert: Americans could once go “days without seeing or thinking about Joe Biden” because his team actively concealed him from the public (with assistance from compliant journalists like Stelter) to obscure his cognitive decline.
Perhaps four years of Biden has caused Stelter to forget: It’s entirely normal and beneficial for voters to regularly see and hear from their president.
The incessant fixation on Trump is a symptom of the obsessed “resistance” media’s self-induced condition.
This Assertion:
“[DOJ dropping charges against Mayor Eric Adams] exemplifies what occurs in authoritarian regimes.” — Jeffrey Toobin, Monday
We assert: In reality, what “occurs in authoritarian regimes” is the manipulation of the justice system against dissenters and political adversaries — such as Mayor Adams being hit with corruption accusations after highlighting the disastrous impact of illegal immigration.
Or the DOJ’s prolonged legal assault on Trump. Or the FBI suppressing free speech on social media. It’s curious that Toobin had no comments during those instances.
