Delta Regional Jet Wing Collides with Runway at New York Airport

A regional jet operated by Delta Air Lines made contact with the runway at New York’s LaGuardia Airport late Sunday during a go-around maneuver, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

Approximately at 10:10 p.m. EDT, the left wing of Endeavor Air Flight 4814 touched the runway while the pilot was performing a go-around in response to an unstable approach, as stated by the FAA, which will conduct an investigation into the incident.

Delta reported that the flight originated from Jacksonville, Florida, carrying 76 passengers and four crew members. The airline noted that the crew “adhered to standard procedures for safely executing a go-around at New York-LaGuardia. The aircraft landed without issue and continued to its designated gate.”
