Nationwide Rallies in All 50 States: Thousands Protest Against Donald Trump and Elon Musk | US News

Countless individuals assembled in cities nationwide as protests against Donald Trump and Elon Musk unfolded across all 50 states on Saturday.

Approximately 1,200 protests were scheduled in cities such as Washington DC, New York City, and West Palm Beach, Florida, just a short distance from where the President spent the weekend golfing.

The “Hands Off!” demonstrations were organized to contest the Trump administration’s approach to government downsizing, human rights, the economy, and other crucial issues.

In Washington DC, protesters flooded the lawn in front of the Washington Monument, with one individual carrying a banner that read: “Make democracy great again.”

One protester criticized Mr. Trump for his management of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, holding a sign that read: “Stop Putin’s puppets from destroying America.”

Elon Musk was also prominently mentioned on numerous signs due to his involvement in contentious government budget cuts as head of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Terry Klein, a retired biomedical scientist, shared her motivations for attending the rally, highlighting concerns over Trump’s policies on topics ranging from immigration to DOGE and tariffs implemented this week, as well as education.

“Our entire nation is under siege, affecting all of our institutions and what America represents,” she stated.

Some attendees carried Ukrainian flags, while others donned rainbow attire and waved flags in support of the LGBTQ+ community.

Additional protesters adorned Palestinian keffiyeh scarves and held signs proclaiming “Free Palestine.”

Protesters refuse to accept Donald Trump’s policies passively

Situated in honor of George Washington, a pivotal figure in U.S. history, protesters were determined to reject Donald Trump’s policies.

“Stand tall,” they chanted repeatedly.

“In every city, stand tall. In every state, stand tall. In reality, stand tall. In justice, stand tall.”

These shared sentiments were echoed by thousands on the iconic mall, reinforced by their signs and t-shirts.

A minister, wearing a t-shirt emblazoned with ‘Troublesome Priest’, expressed that what was unfolding in the U.S. government was “appalling and immortal”.

One participant proudly announced he had traveled 2,750 miles from Hawaii for the protest.

“I finally reached a breaking point,” he remarked. “I couldn’t take it anymore.”

Another participant stated: “We must speak out, we must take action, we must do something, because this is not America.”

When asked what she would say to those who argue the public had already spoken when they elected Donald Trump, she responded: “Some have spoken, while many have not; those of us who have not need to raise our voices now.”

Thousands marched in midtown Manhattan and Boston, Massachusetts, while hundreds gathered at the sunny Utah State Capitol in Salt Lake City, as well as in the rain outside the Statehouse in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Trump, who rattled financial markets with his tariffs announcement this week, spent the day in Florida, enjoying a round of golf before returning to his Mar-a-Lago residence.

About four miles from Mar-a-Lago, over 400 people gathered, and drivers honked in support of protesters who held signs, including one that stated: “Markets tank, Trump golfs.”

The White House has announced that Mr. Trump intends to golf again on Sunday.
