Trump claimed that the first 100 days of his second term are the “most successful” of any administration in history.

“We’re here tonight in the heart of our nation to celebrate the most successful first 100 days of any administration in the history of our country — and that’s according to many people,” Trump told an enthusiastic crowd of supporters. “This is the best, they say, 100-day start of any president in history, and everyone is saying it.”

“We’ve just gotten started. You haven’t seen anything yet. It’s just kicking off,” he added.

Contrarily, mainstream media polls, including one from Fox News, indicate he has a 44% approval rating and 55% disapproval. Other polls, including those from ABC News/Washington Post (42% approval–55% disapproval), New York Times/Siena College (42%–54%), CNN (43%–57%), Reuters/Ipsos (42%–53%), Pew Research (40%–59%), and AP/NORC (39%–59%) also reflect low approval ratings.

Nonetheless, several media analysts argue that these outlets are intentionally attempting to tarnish the president’s reputation, alleging that they manipulate data to serve the interests of their liberal owners and cater to a progressive audience.

During his speech, Trump highlighted that inflation, which peaked at 9.1% in 2022, has been decreasing. When Trump assumed office in January, it was at 3%, which declined to 2.4% in March.

“We will end inflation, slash prices. We’ve already ended inflation,” he proclaimed.

Trump also pointed out a significant reduction in the cost of eggs, which has dropped by 87% since he took office.

“You had so many eggs for Easter,” he said.

The 47th president furthermore asserted that his initiative to reduce auto tariffs will “create more jobs” across the nation.

Trump enacted an executive order and proclamation that allows reimbursements for domestic auto companies importing parts, which will be subject to a 25% tariff commencing Saturday. The 25% duty on imported cars will remain, with a new 25% tariff on parts taking effect as promised.

At another juncture, Trump praised his stringent immigration policies as a fundamental achievement and one of the major “promises kept” during his campaign.

“And week by week, we’re ending illegal immigration,” Trump emphasized.

“You know, I won primarily because of my stance on illegal immigration, the southern border, and the influx of individuals from around the globe,” he noted, attributing his electoral success to his firm immigration policy.

“And the worst offenders are being sent to a no-nonsense prison in El Salvador,” Trump claimed, showcasing a video montage of migrant deportees.

He also took the opportunity to criticize former President Joe Biden, labeling him “the worst president” in US history.

“We lost billions and billions of dollars a day – not millions, but billions every single day under sleepy Joe Biden,” Trump articulated to his followers at the rally in Macomb County, Michigan. “What’s more entertaining, ‘Crooked Joe’ or ‘Sleepy Joe?’”

“I always found ‘Sleepy Joe’ quite catchy, you know, it has a nice tone to it. He possesses a talent I lack: the ability to sleep on the beach and doze off within moments,” he joked.

Trump wrapped up his speech by reinforcing his usual rallying cry, promising to “fight, fight, fight” and “win, win, win.”
