The Prospects for Cross-Strait Relations in 2023 and Beyond by The Global Taiwan Institute



This past year was highly eventful for Taiwan and developments related to Taiwan. From increasingly coercive Chinese military activity directed at Taiwan to U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to the island, these events are highly influential to the Strait and all the stakeholders.

“The Prospects for Cross-Strait Relations in 2023 and Beyond” is a seminar hosted by The Global Taiwan Institute at 10 a.m. ET on Dec. 15. Assistant professor of political science at Soochow University (Taipei, Taiwan) Dr. Chen Fang-yu, associate research fellow in the Division of National Defense Strategy and Resources at the Institute for National Defense and Security Research (INDSR) Dr. Chen Liang-yu (Evans Chen), professor of political science at the University of Miami Dr. June Teufel Dreyer, and professor in the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland Dr. Scott L. Kastner shared their thoughts regarding the relationship between Taiwan, China, and the United States.
