Tragically, four children have lost their lives and six others were injured following a car crash into an after-school program facility in Illinois.

As reported by ABC7 Chicago, a vehicle collided with the side of the “Ynot Outdoors Summer and After School Camp” in Chatham, driving straight through the building.

Authorities confirm that four children have died, and six others have been transported to nearby hospitals.

According to the Illinois State Police, the deceased ranged from four to eighteen years old.

The driver, who did not sustain injuries, has been taken into custody, but their identity is yet to be disclosed.

Governor JB Pritzker (D-Ill.) shared on X that he is aware of the situation and is monitoring updates closely.

“Let’s wrap our arms around the community tonight as we receive updates on the situation,” Pritzker mentioned in a social media post.
