Alabama Senator Tuberville Speaks Out on ‘Extremely Dark Day in American History’
Senator Tommy Tuberville of Alabama expressed his strong condemnation towards Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan for their collaboration in convicting former President Donald Trump. Tuberville described the conviction as a “very dark day in American history.”
This historic verdict marked the first time a former U.S. president was found guilty of felony crimes. The New York jury convicted Trump on 34 counts related to falsifying business records in connection to a payment made by Michael Cohen to Stormy Daniels.
In a statement obtained by Newsmax, Tuberville stated, “It’s a very dark day in American history. This ‘trial’ was a political witch hunt from the start. The fact that the Biden campaign staged a press conference outside the court tells you everything you need to know.”
Tuberville criticized the biased nature of the trial, mentioning the lopsided jury, the gag order imposed on Trump, and the lack of unanimity required for conviction. He labeled the trial as a “complete joke” and a misuse of taxpayer funds.
Attending the court proceedings as a sign of support for Trump, Tuberville denounced the trial as “pure election interference” aimed at preventing Trump from winning the elections against Joe Biden.
“The American people will see through it,” Tuberville remarked. He emphasized the importance of upholding the constitutional rights of U.S. citizens, warning against a two-tier justice system similar to those in Venezuela or China.
